LGBTI observance days

The European Pride Organisers Association (EPOA) is the network of European lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) Pride organisations

There are several days in the annual calendar when the LGBTI community and their allies come together to focus on one section of the community, to raise awareness, remember those who’ve gone before, and challenge hatred and discrimination.

  • Third Friday in January: International Fetish Day
  • 27 January: Holocaust Memorial Day
  • 6 February: Sámi National Day
  • February (whole month): LGBT History Month (UK)
  • February (the week after Valentine’s Day): Aromantic Awareness Week
  • 24 February: Anniversary of the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine
  • 8 March: International Women’s Day
  • 31 March: Trans Day of Visibility
  • 6 April: International Asexuality Day
  • 24-30 April (2023): Lesbian Visibility Week
  • 26 April: Lesbian Visibility Day
  • 30 April: Anniversary of the Admiral Duncan bombing (UK) (1999)
  • First Sunday in May: International Family Equality Day
  • Mid-May (2023 dates TBC): European HIV & Hepatitis Testing Week
  • 6-12 May 2024: Trans+ History Week
  • 17 May: International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia & Transphobia (IDAHOBIT / IDAHOT)
  • 19 May: Agender Pride Day
  • 22 May: Harvey Milk Day
  • 24 May: Pansexual & Panromantic Visibility Day
  • 12 June: Anniversary of the Orlando Pulse attack (USA) (2016)
  • 21-29 June: EuroPride 2024 Thessaloniki (GR)
  • 25 June: Anniversary of the first unveiling of the Rainbow Flag in San Francisco (1978)
  • 27 June: Anniversary of the first EuroPride (London, UK) (1992)
  • 28 June: Anniversary of the uprising at the Stonewall Inn (1969)
  • 14 July: International Non-Binary Day
  • 16 July: International Drag Day
  • 28 July: World Hepatitis Day
  • 23 September: Bi Visibility Day
  • October (whole month): LGBT History Month (USA)
  • October (third Wednesday): International Pronouns Day
  • October (week varies): Asexuality Awareness Week
  • 8 October: International Lesbian Day
  • 11 October: Coming Out Day
  • 16 October: Spirit Day
  • 26 October: Intersex Awareness Day
  • November (first Sunday): Trans Parent Day
